Electric Windows

After market electric windows and central locking are widely available for most models. One thing to be careful of is the serviceability of the components used, when after-market kits are installed. Will they still be available in years to come if something does break?

Genuine central locking and electric windows are a good way to go, but they usually work out dearer. Second hand kits can be purchased, and if inspected and installed correctly, they should not promote any problems. Some genuine parts are still available new, and others can be traced through spare parts yards.

Correct fitment of the genuine kits result in the vehicle looking and operating as if it was made that way. The only obstacle faced in this procedure, is what to do with the holes left in the door trims where the winder handles were. Most trim shops can alleviate this problem, but that is another cost to be planned for.
