5.0ltr PFI engine fit very well into earlier bodied Holdens. They have ample engine bay room, which allows for most accessories, accept for air conditioning. The standard HQ air would be in the way of the throttle body, and the Commodore air won't fit between the block and the steering box.
Hidden wiring and overall neatness is easier when there is so much room!
Pacemaker extractors are readily available to suit 5.0Ltr EFI into HQ-WB.
The ignition coil has been relocated to the firewall instead of the original position at the back of the manifold.
I usually prefer to relocate the battery to the right side of the engine bay (as per Commodore), and the relay and fuse assembly is mounted along side between the battery and the guard. Once the battery has been relocated, a standard style air box can be fitted, or a remote air pod. The trigger module has been mounted to a custom bracket on the alternator, mainly for neatness. The ECM has been mounted out of sight behind the left kick panel, in the pillar recess. This also allows easy access to the ALDL (diagnostic) plug, and the standard kick panel can be refitted.
