VB Commodore Air Con Issues
Phoenix Mechanical
Soaring

Fan Speed Slide switch - The fan speed slide control switch is responsible for the variable speed control of the fan motor. The circuit board used in the switch may distort, due to excessive current draw and age, and may stop working in some or all positions. GMH introduced revised circuit boards which were thicker and more durable.

Air conditioning switch - The normal/recirculating air conditioning toggle switch can fail by the plastic switch breaking, or by excessive current draw.

Air Conditioning Compressor - VB Commodores come with a "Delco" brand air conditioning compressor. These compressors are large and bulky, and as they age are some what inefficient. They are also prone to failure. Even rebuilt items may have a short life span. Brand new Delco compressors are available, but costly.
