VK Sedan

This VK basically looks like a VL under the bonnet, but that's what owner, wanted - A VK with a better engine.
This is quite an involved conversion, even though the models are very similar. Without converting the whole car to a VL, many things where changed. Fabricated engine mounts where used, instead of changing the engine cross member and power steering rack. The auto transmission cross member was also fabricated to suit the application. The front lower tie bar was changed to accept the VL radiator, and the battery tray was relocated on the right side of the engine bay, as was a VL 6.
The exhaust was modified to allow for the catalytic converter (VL's have extra floor clearance), and a VL exhaust system was used. The VL power steering pump and reservoir was utilized in this conversion, as the VK 6 cyld set-ups are prone to leak. A speedo interface was also used in this conversion, both to aid the engine computer and the automatic transmission computer. Most other areas of this conversion where straightforward.
