Air Conditioning Vibration (Gen III) - In some VY's, a vibration may be felt inside the vehicle while idling in Drive, with air conditioning on. A possible cause could be the plastic end tanks of the radiator contacting the mounting brackets on the radiator support panel. It may also be the radiator retaining clips contacting the plastic end tanks, instead of just the locating rubber. Careful bending of the support brackets will increase clearances (3mm suggested minimum clearance between mounting bracket and tank. 1mm suggested minimum clearance between retaining clips and tank).
Dash Whistle - A whistle may be heard while the heater/AC fan is in use, and the whistle may increase as the fan speed increases. The plastic housing of the heater/AC unit may distort, producing small 1mm to 2mm gaps. These gaps can be the cause of the whistling. In early 2004, extra screws were added to the housing assembly to reduce distortion.
Fluttering Dash Noise (Series II) - A fluttering noise may be heard from the dash when the blower fan is on high, the mode is set to demist/floor, and the engine is at idle speed. This may be cause by the floor mode door fluttering or vibrating against it's stop position. In mid 2004, the floor mode door actuator (black actuator rod) was replaced with the same actuator as used on the face mode door (white actuator rod).
