Glove Box Lid - The glove box lid may become distorted, usually on the left hand side. A revised glove box lid was introduced early 2003, with added strengthening ribs and made from a more heat stable material.
Glove Box Light - In some VY's the glove box light remains on after the glove box lid is closed (mostly visable at night while driving). A possible cause may be an incorrectly routed wiring harness behind the glovebox. The wiring harness may interfer with the right hand rear corner of the glove box, causing the glove box to distort and the light switch to turn on. The glove box light is timed to turn off after 65 minutes (default), or 10 seconds after the vehicle is locked, so a flat battery should not be an issue. In November of 2002, an extra tie strap was introduced into production, to relocate the wiring harness away from the glove box lid area.

Front Seat Hieght Adjuster - The seat height adjuster may become inoperative, which can be caused by the electric motor adjusting shaft separating from the plastic mechanism adjuster nut. A new seat base assembly was introduced early 2003, which featured a metal mechanism adjuster nut.
Seat Movement (Series I Calais) - While braking, or during a sudden slow speed stop, the drivers seat may move slightly foreward. This can be a result of a loose lead screw nut located on the base of the seat track. The lead screw nut originally had a 2.5mm steel washer which compressed against a rubber washer. A 3.5mm steel washer (92148372) was introduced to provide more compression against the rubber washer, and reduce movement.
Front Seat Squeak - In VY's built from April 2003 onwards, the drivers seat may develope a squeak while driving, when the seat is in the fully down position (hieght adjuster). A possible cause may be the plastic side cover of the lower seat cushion contacting the seat rail trim cover when the seat is fully down. If the covers do touch, the side cushion cover should be trimmed away at the point of contact so that they no longer touch.
Steering Wheel Spokes - The satin chrome finish on the steering wheel spokes may bubble, flake or come off.

Steering Column Rattle - A buzzing noise may be heard fron the steering column area, when driving at highway speeds and/or on coarse bitumen roads. A possible cause may be the steering column adjuster spring rattling/vibrating against the steering column housing. In this situation, cable tying the two sides of the spring together may help.
Rear Cargo Carpet - Some VY Series II wagons may have poorly fitting rear cargo carpet, especially next to the cargo tie down rails. In mid 2004, clips were added to the edge of the carpet near the cargo tie down rails to prevent lifting and/or poor fitment.
